Public Talk: Dr Rachel Carley, followed by AfternoonTea

As part of the Suburban Floral Association's Letting Space project Shopfront Dr Rachel Carley will speak about her ceramics, still life and the floral at 4pm, Sunday 13th March. Afternoon tea will be available to all attendees following her talk.
Rachel lectures in Interior Design at Unitec. Her PhD thesis 'Whiteread’s Soundings of Architecture', moulds a series of contours between the British artist Rachel Whiteread'’s sculptures and architectural discourse. Since 1994, Carley has also been designing slip cast, earthenware ceramics that have been extensively published in New Zealand design magazines.
Given Newmarket Station is on Shopfront's doorstep, Letting Space and the Association are encouraging the public to take the train to Station Square for Shopfront events. Go to www.maxx.co.nz for train times.
